Establishment in Jordan

Helping Hand for Relief and Development (HHRD) - Jordan branch was  founded in April 2013 in Amman- Jordan. This is the branch office of HHRD USA, the American International NGO which works in more than 50 countries worldwide. Our branch office in Jordan is in charge to manage the activities in Middle East and North Africa.

 

 

The Jordan branch office started with three programs and continues to increase. HHRD target to become 12 programs in 2016.

The Programs

Helping Hand is presently implementing the following programs:

 

   

 

Orphans Support Program:

The number of beneficiaries' reached 2.000 orphans. This program focuses on children who lost their fathers. The program provides an integrated support to the sponsored orphan consisting:  Educational Support, Financial Support, Healthcare support and Psychological Support.

 HHRD aims to increase the number of beneficiaries to reach to 3.000 orphans by the end of 2016 .

 

 

 

In-kind Gifts Program:

   This program Contributes in enabling individuals, businesses and non-governmental organizations and other organizations to send their In-kind materials to needy families' in Natural or man made disasters areas.

Skills Development Program:

This program aims to lift up economically women in the weak and disastrous communities by providing them with skills they need and teach them a career which helps them earn their living.

 

 

The number of beneficiaries is 254 in last years in sewing, embroidery, handicrafts and computer trainings.

 

 

 

Seasonal Programs:

 Seasonal Programs allow the needy families to enjoy the month of Ramadan month and also Eid Holidays and decrease their sufferings in winter season. Below is a list of seasonal programs implemented:

Shelter Relief Program:

The first project of this program was implemented in 2015. It included 13 families consisting of 52 persons, 39 from them are orphans.

 

 

 

Youth for Jordan:

   A group of young people came to Jordan in a cultural exchange visit. They participated in HHRD Humanitarian and relief activities and made visits to historical place.

 

   

   The program includes 27 youth beneficiaries (10 males and 17 females). 

 

 

Emergency Response Program:

The project which was implemented includes providing relief assistance to the floods affected people in Jordan in 2015. Aid was provided to 200 families (around 710 individuals).  

 

 

 

  

Education Support Program:

Education Support Program aims to eliminate illiteracy and provide education opportunities to Syrian refugee students who are unable to continue education because of various reasons. The first project implemented is "Family Education Support Program" and includes 100 Syrian Refugee students.

 

 

 

Future programs:

Helping Hand for Relief and Development aims also to implement another four programs in 2016:

 

 

Children with Disabilities Program:

HHRD already started this project. We hope to provide rehabilitation services to 100  children with disabilities in 2016.

 

Food Support Program:

 

This program target to provide food packages to 10.000 needy beneficiaries on 2016.

 

 

 

Youth Internship Program:

 

This programs target to training academic students on charity and volunteering work by involving them in the projects and activities of Helping Hand. 

 

Shelter Relief Project (Caravans for Syrian Refugees):

HHRD aims to provide shelter in form of "Caravans" to 30 families from Syrians refugees.
